Vintage

We've hunted high and low for these recipes, so relax and enjoy the flavours that launched cocktail culture.

Monkey Gland

Gin, orange juice, grenadine and Absinthe. Named after Dr. Serge Voronoff's famous 'Monkey Gland' operation which, in the 1920's, was thought to increase one's aphrodisiac qualities.

20th Century

Created in 1939 and named after the express train that travelled between New York and Chicago. Light citrus flavours from gin and Cointreau but with a chocolate undercurrent from white Créme de Cacao.

Yokohama Romance

Brandy, cherry brandy, lime and passion fruit. Discovered at the Romance night club in Japan this concoction is as lethal and delightful as romance itself.

Vesper

Gin, vodka & Kina Lillet. The original James Bond 'shaken not stirred' martini, taken straight from the pages of the first 007 novel - Casino Royale. As James says, “Once you've tasted it, it's all you want to drink.”

Corpse Reviver No. 2

Gin, Cointreau, Kina Lillet, lemon & Absinthe. Of this delicate and subtle mix, it was aptly written that “four of these taken in swift succession will unrevive the corpse again”

Aviation

Like the original 1916 Aviation our recipe uses violette liqueur to give a dry sourness and punch to the mix of gin and maraschino.

French 75

Created in France during the First World War, this drink was named after the French 75mm guns by celebrating veterans after the war. A smooth drink of gin and fresh lemon juice topped with bubbly.

East India

There are several versions of this concoction in Craddock and Baker. We finally settled on this variant containing cognac, Cointreau, pineapple juice and bitters.

Sidecar

As the story goes, a Parisian who rode his motorbike to the bar complained of the cold. The bartender knew that brandy would warm him up, but such is an after dinner drink. His solution was to add Cointreau and lemon juice and the Sidecar was born.

Champagne Cocktail

First recorded in Jerry Thomas’s 1862 book this cocktail calls for a bitters soaked sugar cube and cognac, topped up with bubbly.

Wing Time 6

Fresh kiwi is shaken with Finlandia vodka, kiwi schnapps, apple schnapps and apple juice. Served in a tall glass.

Angels Rum Punch

Be a lover, not a fighter and this is the only punch you'll ever need. Havana Especial, Havana 3, Chambrd raspberry liqueur, raspberry puree, pineapple and orange juices.

Black Bison

A fantastic combination of Zubrowka Bison Gras vodka and Absolut Vanil vodka shaken with blackberries, fresh lime juice, vanilla syrup and apple juice. Served long.

La Cucuracha

Tequila's vegetable flavours have always mixed well with fruit and this is no exception. Tequila, Agavero agave liqueur, apple schnapps, passion fruit, apple juice and vanilla make this a long and palatable drink.

Large Hadron Colada

The 'God' cocktail on which the Grand Unified Theory of bartending stands. Koko Kanu coconut rum, peach schnapps, mango puree and cream.

Black Star Liner

As far as late night espresso based martinis go, this mix of espresso, Mozart Dark chocolate liqueur and Patron XO Café tequila is the best we’ve seen.

Passion Fruit Martini

A delicious mix of Finlandia vodka, fresh passion fruit and passion fruit purée shaken with vanilla syrup.

Tiramisu

With beautifully layered flavours of coffee and chocolate this cockail is a self indulgent dessert in a glass. Espresso, Kahlua and Mozart White & Dark chocolate liqueurs.

Pear & Cardamom Sidecar

Our take on the classic sidecar. Muddled cardamom seeds are shaken with Xanté pear brandy Cointreau and lemon producing a drink of elegant sophistication.

Passionate Champagne

Fresh passion fruit and passion fruit purée are shaken with Chambord liqueur and vanilla. Served long and topped up with fizz.

Classic Cocktails let the flavour of the base spirit shine through so choose your favourite spirit to make the ultimate classic.

Cosmopolitan

In all likelihood this cocktail was the invention of the gay community in Provincetown, Massachusetts. The simplicity and balance of Absolut Citron, lime cordial, Cointreau and cranberry juice make this recent cocktail a lasting classic.

English Rose

Classic flavours blend flawlessly in this delicate mix. Finlandia vodka, Amaretto almond liqueur, apple schnapps with cranberry and apple juices.

Jack in the Box

A forgotten great from Embury’s 1948 ‘Fine Art of Mixing Drinks’. Calvados apple brandy, Xanté pear brandy, apple schnapps & lemon. Shaken and served long.

Wing Time 5

If you want something cheeky and spicey it’s Wing Time! Muddled fresh ginger is shaken with our own chilli infused vodka, then smoothed out with pineapple, coconut and cream.

Apple Pip Julep

Born in the Deep South in the 1700s, the Julep eventually settled on a whiskey base. Here we add a splasj of apple juice to a slug of Jack Daniel's and of course fresh mint to make a Derby day favourite.

Mojito

First recorded by western palettes in Baker’s 1939 tome, our Mojito dispenses with the soda for a more intense flavour. Havana rum, with mint, fresh lime, & palm sugar, topped off with a dash of bitters.

Caipirinha

A traditional drink that came about when poor Brazilians added sugar and limes to their cachaca. We use Sagatiba cachaca, fresh lime & palm sugar.

Sour

Enjoy your favourite spirit balanced with a mix of sweet and sour. Try vodka, gin, whiskey, bourbon, brandy, rum, pisco, Amaretto, Calvados or Xanté.

Margarita

Tequila, triple sec & fresh lime. This holy trinity of cocktail elements produces a drink that is simple yet tastes so complex. Ask for it served up, on the rocks, or frozen and with or without a salt rim.

Bloody Mary

Blackwoods Cucumber vodka, our own chilli infused vodka, celery, tomato juice, Worcestershire & Tobasco sauces, lemon juice, salt & pepper. The best in town.

Heavenly

Heavenly mixes to tempt any palate.

White Russian

Kahlua coffee liqueur and Finlandia vodka, mixed with milk and cream.

Bay Breeze

Finlandia vodka shaken with cranberry and pineapple juices.

Grasshopper

Minty Créme de Menthe,White Créme de Cacao and cream.

Kir Royal

A glass of bubbly with a splash of Créme de Cassis blackcurrant liqueur.

Bellini

Liqueur and fruit purée charged with bubbly. Choose from peach, strawberry or raspberry.

Spiced and Stormy

Morgan’s Spiced rum shaken with sweet & sours and topped up with ginger beer.

Lychee Martini

Fruity lychee and passion fruit liqueurs shaken with cranberry and pineapple juices.

Lynchburg Lemonade

Jack Daniel's whiskey, triple sec, lemon juice & bitters shaken and topped up with lemonade.

Appletini

Finlandia vodka shaken with apple schnapps, Midori melon liqueur and apple juice.

Bay Breeze

Finlandia vodka, shaken with cranberry and pineapple juices.

Day Tripper

Finlandia grapefruit vodka, grapefruit liqueur, apple juice and a dash of passion fruit.

French Martini

Finlandia vodka shaken with Chambord and pineapple juice.

Peachcomber

Finlandia vodka, peach liqueur, peach & mango purées,and orange & lime juices lengthened with soda.

Daiquiri

Appleton Special rum, lime juice and sugar. Served shaken or frozen with optional strawberry, raspberry, peach, mango or passion fruit purée.

Parma Violet Martini

Finlandia vodka, shaken with violette liqueur, peach schnapps, sweet & sour.

Singapore Sling

Bombay Sapphire gin, triple sec, cherry brandy & a splash of grenadine shaken and topped up with ginger ale.

Nacional

Bacardi Superior rum, apricot brandy, pineapple juice and a dash of lemon.

Angels is available for private hire, seven days a week. Bring your own music and decorations, or leave it to us. We can also provide food for your guests and accommodate 20-120 people.
